Minister of Finance

Bedri Hamza was appointed Minister of Finance on February 22nd, 2011. During his tenure as Minister he shall be in charge of drafting financial polices and dealing with budget related issues.

Prior to his appointment in the duty of Minister of Finance, Mr. Hamza served as the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance for three years.

Bedri Hamza also has a distinguished political career, other functions exercised prior to receiving of governmental mandate from the Democratic Party of Kosovo in 2008, he served as Deputy President of PDK branch in Mitrovica, Head of the Department of Economy and Finance in the Cabinet of Good Governance in the Democratic Party of Kosovo, responsible for monitoring the work of the Government in that time and offered various alternatives for solving the economic problems in the country.

During the 1987- 1990 period, Mr. Hamza was employed with KXMK “Trepça” in Mitrovica as Head of Accounting and Finance at Lead Metallurgy. During the 1990– 1998 period he was engaged in the private business. While in 2000- 2003 he was appointed as Director of Public Services in the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica.

Bedri Hamza graduated in 1987 at the Pristina University, Faculty of Economy. While he earned a MBA degree on the topic “Problems in making the fiscal system in the Republic of Kosovo perfect”. He is currently pursuing PHD studies at the Tirana University.

He was born on 08.11.1963, in Klina e Epërme, Municipality of Skënderaj.

He lives in Mitrovica together with his spouse, Mrs. Remzie and three children: Doruntina, Diellza and Ensar.
